Each spring MWACE hosts our Trends in Recruiting conference. This is a great opportunity for employers and career services staff to learn more about the job market and student attitudes toward recruitment from leading researchers in the field.

MWACE has secured a block of rooms at the Element St. Louis Midtown Hotel (a Marriott property), located within walking distance of the SLU Busch Student Center. The nightly rate varies from $149.00 - $169.00 (plus applicable taxes), depending on room type. To receive the group rate, rooms must be booked by Thursday, March 6.

Presenters and Panelists
Featured Presenter: Stuart Mease Stuart Mease has committed his career to connecting talent and companies. His service in this industry spans the private, governmental and higher education sectors providing a unique lens to the labor market. Currently, Mease advises organizations and individuals on talent acquisition matters.
Mease spent 15 years at college career centers. Most recently as the Executive Director of Employer Relations at Wake Forest University, and at his alma mater, Virginia Tech, where he oversaw admission and diversity recruiting, mentoring, career services, employer outreach and lifelong career services for the Pamplin College of Business.
He has authored “The Perfect Job Seeker” for Wiley and has developed other content for their Wiley Plus platform. Prior, he worked as a corporate recruiter for Rackspace.
Mease’s enjoyment of working in the talent ecosystem stemmed from a stint at the City of Roanoke, Virginia where he created programs and events aimed at attracting and retaining the creative class workforce. These activities received over 125 local, state and national media exposures. Additionally, Mease has been asked to speak over 100 times to audiences about these programs. Blue Ridge PBS also recognized Mease’s work and invited him to be a content contributor to “JobQuest” a live monthly television show assisting job seekers. The show won a regional Emmy.
Featured Presenter: Mary Scott (Read More) Managing Partner, Scott Resource Group
Mary Scott, managing consultant at Scott Resource Group, will present research findings from her recent student surveys – along with employer and career center interviews – that provide analysis of the current state, and includes some clues as to where the profession is heading. This is one of the few places we can review data provided directly from the student candidates, providing a full picture of where recruiting strategies may be falling short.
