Collaborating Across Campus:
How To Engage More Students Using Campus Partnerships

Friday, Oct. 21, 2016
12:30 - 1:30 p.m. CDT | 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. EDT

A key challenge facing career centers today is how to provide meaningful engagement opportunities for students starting early on during their college careers. Collaborating with campus partners provides career services with a valuable means of reaching more students. These mutually beneficial relationships not only enrich the student experience, but also create greater awareness and support for the work that career services professionals do.

This presentation will explore a model for building stronger relationships with campus partners, including residential life, multicultural student affairs, athletics, fraternity and sorority life, and others. There will be a deeper dive into the unique opportunities that a collaboration with residential life affords career services. Residential-based LinkedIn workshops and a pilot Career Ambassador In-Residence program will be discussed. Following the presentation, an open discussion on best practices, programs, and initiatives will take place.
