Assistant Director - Employer Relations and Outreach

Job Description:

The Assistant Director position will create new and improve existing relationships with employers through outreach by conducting regular visits to local, regional, national and international organizations in order to expand employment opportunities for University of Dayton students and alumni. This position is also responsible for the administration and coordination of career-related events such as the Career Fair, Education.

Job Requirements:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Two years experience in career services, cooperative education, recruiting or human resources. Demonstrated exceptional organization skills.

  • Experience and skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to work independently and to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.

  • Some overnight and weekend travel required.

  • A valid driver license with less than six points is required.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree, or a combination of education and relevant work experience.

  • Dynamic, professional demeanor with exceptional presentation and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Extensive experience and ability in utilizing social media as networking tools such as LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.

  • Must stay abreast of emerging technologies in social media and their use in recruiting.

  • Knowledge of and competence utilizing technological resources for career services and/or human resources (applicant tracking systems), including career services software such as CSO Interfase. Experience organizing and coordinating events such as career fairs.

  • Outreach, recruiting or sales experience.

  • Knowledge of recruiting practices and trends.

  • Experience with supervision and training.

  • Additional presentation software experience such as Prezi.

  • Demonstrated and successful experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.

  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to a Catholic Marianist work environment.
