Tips for Your Trip to St. Louis

Check-in time is 4:00pm and check-out time is 11:00am

On-site parking fee is $2.00 hourly or $20.00 daily. Valet is also available for $28.00 daily. Please note, self or valet parking does not accommodate large SUV's and other oversize vehicles.


The hotel does not provide airport shuttle service.

Alternate transportation:

  • GO Best Express: to reserve your airport shuttle ride to/from the airport and the host hotel.  Midwest ACE has a discounted rate of $17.00 each way per person. Reservations must be made online by clicking the link above to receive the discounted rate.  Standard rates ($22 one way) will apply for walk up reservations made on the spot.
  • Bus service - $7.00 one way
  • Subway service - $3.50 one way
  • Estimated taxi fare - $40.00 one way

Local Area Information & Attractions

Did you know that St. Louis has more free attractions than any city outside of Washington, DC, including the Saint Louis Zoo and Contemporary Art Museum?

For those who have downtime during the conference, or plan to stay in town for the weekend, the city has plenty to do, see, and eat. From farmers markets and wineries to live music and museums, there are several free and low-cost options! Visit Explore St. Louis to help plan your fun!

Please note, there is some significant construction in the St. Louis Arch area.



Visit the registration desk located at the Landmark Registration  on the conference lobby level of the Marriott St. Louis Grand to pick up your name badge, at-a-glance schedule and other conference materials.

Registration hours are:

  • Wed., Jul. 27: 8:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Thurs., Jul. 28: 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Fri., Jul. 29: 7:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

In your name badge you will find tickets for the following events:

  • (2) yellow drink tickets for the Wed. Welcome Reception
  • (2) orange drink tickets for the Thurs. Cocktail Reception

Note: It is important that you wear your name badge to all Midwest ACE functions as it serves as your ticket of admission and is the best way to get to know other members and conference attendees.

Thursday Luncheon Awards Presentation

On Thursday, Jul. 27, join your fellow conference attendees at the luncheon to honor our winners for the J.W. Paquette Superior Leadership Award, Founders Distinguished Service Award, the President's Award and the Diversity Advancement Scholarship.

J.W. Paquette Award
Instituted in 1991, this award recognizes active members who have made a consistent and significant leadership contribution to Midwest ACE.


Founders Distinguished Service Award
In honor of the six founders of Midwest ACE, this special recognition award will be given to active members of the Association who have made a truly distinguished contribution to the Association and the profession over an entire career.


President's Award
Awarded by the Midwest ACE Immediate Past President.


Diversity Advancement Scholarship

The Diversity Scholarship is an opportunity provided by the Diversity Advancement Committee of Midwest ACE. The scholarship is open to graduate students in Student Affairs, College Student Personnel, Higher Education, Human Resources or a related field. Recent graduates in their first year of employment in Career Services or Human Resources may also apply. This scholarship will allow the recipient to attend the Midwest ACE Annual Conference and have the opportunity to present at the conference, network with current professionals in the field, attend workshops and seminars for professional development, report on their experience in the Midwest ACE newsletter, and much more.

Networking doesn't just happen during the day at Midwest ACE. Join us Wednesday, Jul. 27 from 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m at The Flamingo Bowl, a unique lounge experience with eight bowling lanes, generous seating in an open and airy atmosphere with grand views of Washington Ave. and downtown St. Louis. Attendees will enjoy drinks and dessert.

Tuesday Night Networking Reception at T-Rex

The Gateway Career Services Association (GCSA) and Midwest ACE are excited to host a free pre-conference networking reception at T-REX which is located on the 5th floor of the Lammert Building and is one block from the Marriott St. Louis Grand hotel at 911 Washington Ave. St. Louis, 63101

Thursday Morning Energizer

Start your day – the right way - with a morning walk! Jon C. Neidy, Entertainment Chair, will guide the group for an energizing 50 minute walk. We will network, see some city landmarks, and begin our conference day feeling like we have already accomplished something. Leg Warmers are optional.

Donate to the St. Patrick Center

 The St. Patrick Center in St. Louis is one of Missouri’s largest providers of housing, employment and health opportunities for people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. They take an action-based approach to service and offer nationally recognized programs that assisted approximately 5,700 people last year.

 One of the career related services that St. Patrick Center provides is to offer professional clothing to those in need for job interviews.  This year Midwest ACE is partnering with St. Patrick Center to accept donations of new or gently used professional clothing from individuals who attend the Midwest ACE conference.   If you would like to donate clothing items, please bring them to the conference and drop them off in the registration desk.

All conference evaluations will be sent electronically. Please check your inbox following the Midwest ACE Annual Conference to complete the evaluation. Your comments and suggestions are valuable to Midwest ACE in planning future conferences and professional development opportunities.
