Associate Director for Student Relations
Illinois State University

Job Description:

Manage/oversee the daily operations of the student relations team. Provide leadership, fiscal administration and input on short and long-range planning. Make personnel decisions and conduct evaluations. Support the assistant director and career advisors, as needed, by giving presentations, meeting with students and assisting with walk-in hours. Serve as a liaison to faculty and staff; provide support for their career-related programing needs. Manage/oversee the on-going assessment of student involvement in career center sponsored activities, programs, events, fairs and services including advising appointments. Collect, manage and report information, usage statistics, learning outcomes and general data on an ongoing basis for various reports. Assist with the creation and editing of student handouts, website content, faculty newsletters, marketing materials, and other career development resources. Work with marketing and events on the creation and implementation of marketing strategies for the student relations team.

Job Requirements:

• A Master's degree in student affairs, higher education, counseling, human resources, business, or related fields from an accredited college or university. • Five years of experience in college/university career center setting or a closely related field, with most recent years being in leadership positions of increasing responsibility. • Excellent leadership, planning, organizational and administrative/management skills. Ability to successfully coordinate and facilitate projects independently and with limited supervision. • Supervisory experience. • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, ability to oversee multiple tasks with attention to detail. • Team player with a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with a motivated/enthusiastic work style. • Evidence of strong public speaking/presentation skills. • Self-motivated and project-oriented with a strong commitment to student success.
