Employer Relations Coordinator

Job Description:

Overview of Position The Coordinator will develop, direct and supervise the employer relations program for the office of Career and Internship Services. Job Description Develop, Direct and Supervise Employer Relations Program -Expand, direct, supervise and assess employer relations program. -Expand partnerships with faculty, employers, staff and students to develop and promote program. -Facilitate relationships between employers and the University community, including students, staff, faculty, and the UMD Alumni Association. -Establish and lead Employer Relations Advisory Committee. -Plan, conduct, analyze and apply research designed to improve program. -Coach/counsel students seeking internships and full time employment. -Create, plan, implement, manage, promote and assess events that allow employers, students, faculty and staff to connect for recruiting and networking purposes. Events may include Head of the Lakes Job Fair, E-Fest Job Fair for Science and Engineering Students, UM system-wide Job Fair, Dining for Success, and mock interviews with employers. -Promote services and events using a variety of means including social media and in-person presentations. -Conduct presentations for classes and student organizations. -Coordinate, manage, and promote on-campus interviewing program. -Develop, collect, analyze and report results for events and recruiting activities. -Initiate outreach program for employers to develop internships and jobs for students. -Assess effectiveness of activities. -Serve on campus and system-wide committees engaged in formulating employer relations policies. Manage Online Recruiting System -Manage job and internship listings, events, on-campus interviews, employer contacts and mailing lists using GoldPASS, the UM Job and Internship listing system, which is powered by CSO. Produce reports. -Participate in the GoldPASS users group. Offer feedback and suggestions for improvements to the system. -Market and promote overall use of GoldPASS with students, staff, faculty, and employers. -Assist with supervision of student employee assistant(s). Additional -Participate on University committees and in professional associations as appropriate. -Maintain current knowledge of career and employment trends for college graduates. **The employer reserves the right to modify, change, or add to the duties of the job description, consistent with the University classification, at any time.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications -Completed Bachelors degree in psychology, social work, personal counseling, educational psychology, human resources or related field from a regionally accredited institution and four years or more of progressively responsible experience in student counseling, social case or group work, recreational leadership, or personnel administration; or a Master's degree and two years or more of such experience. -Experience with college-employer relations in higher education or business. -Demonstrated experience developing, directing, supervising, and assessing a program such as employer relations. -Demonstrated leadership experience. -Demonstrated experience leading, planning, managing, promoting and implementing events. -Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced environment serving a broad range of constituents. -Demonstrated exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. -Demonstrated excellent written skills. -Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, inclusive of racial, ethnic, religious, political, and sexual orientation. -Demonstrated computer skills including use of word processing and spreadsheet software (MS Word, Excel) and social media. -Demonstrated experience with online recruiting database software programs (CSO preferred). -Demonstrated qualities: team-player, problem-solver, flexible, adaptable, positive, and motivated. -Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and independently. -Demonstrated experience with marketing programs and events. Preferred Qualifications -Master's degree in psychology, personal counseling, educational psychology, human resources or related field. -Experience in a college or university career office. -Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills -Demonstrated excellent oral and interpersonal skills. -Knowledge of University of MN and its programs.
