Purdue’s Center for Career Opportunities (CCO) is a vibrant career services community committed to innovation and conducting best practices. The CCO is a comprehensive career center that effectively delivers career development programming and is recognized by its peers for hosting one of the highest volume campus interviewing programs in the United States. Posting Summary: Advise students and alumni regarding a variety of career development and job search concerns through individual appointments, group presentations, and classroom visits. Help facilitate on-campus recruiting strategies for selected employing organizations and serve as a resource to all employers. Effectively utilize Internet-based media to build community connecting students to alumni and employers. Collaborate with faculty, student organizations and other campus offices to improve the Center’s delivery of services. Specific need identified to expand programs and services targeting students representing diverse populations.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications: Master's degree in student personnel, counseling, higher education administration, human resources, MBA or a related field plus one year of advising, counseling, recruitment, human resources, employer engagement, education administration or related experience. Equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience will be considered. Strong verbal and written communication, time management and organizational skills are required. Must be able to balance multiple and varied tasks, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information with discretion. Requires excellent interpersonal skills with ability to effectively engage employer constituencies and interact with diverse populations. Candidate should be computer proficient and have experience using social media to build community. This position requires the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends (career fairs, workshops, events) and to represent the Center and Purdue University well to internal and external contacts. Experience developing programs for students who are undecided about their career path is preferred as is awareness of the dynamics of the career decision process and ability to engage students in their own career development process. Salary Range: $38,000 to $41,000.
