The Trends in Recruiting Conference will be offering an Employer Colloquium this year which will feature a student panel and a chance to discuss recruiting with Phil Gardner. Discussion topics will be based on the feedback that was provided by attendees during registration. Topics may include transition from college to work, career progression in the workplace, and workforce readiness, the areas of focus in Phil Gardner’s research. Attendees should come prepared to speak directly with Phil Gardner regarding hot topics in recruiting. This will also be an opportunity to not only listen to the student panelists but to ask questions directly regarding recruitment and what these students expect from their employers.

(2) Adult Learner Workshop Information:
After attending the Adult Learner session, participants will:

  • Better understand adult learners who are engaged in college and plan to enter the workplace for the first time, including attitudes towards themselves and the workplace.

  • Be more informed on the workplace needs and expectations of adult learners.

  • Have a better understanding of the ways to work with, educate, and assist adult learners in their transition from college to career.

  • Be heard! Participants will have the opportunity share their ideas and questions during a Town Hall Discussion that will help us propel adult learner research to the next level.

(3) Diversity Recruiting Workshop Information:

This panel presentation will focus on the Diversity tactics/strategies/resources of a diverse group of employers. Participants will dialogue about best practices and new possibilities in this important sector of college recruiting practice.
