Job Description:

Duties/Physical Demands:

Farmer School of Business: Academic Advisor (multiple positions) with primary responsibilities in advising and new student recruitment; provide individual academic advising and assist in academic planning and decision making; make referrals to appropriate resources and offices; initiate outreach programs for "at-risk" students; explore new advising and communication initiatives; represent School to prospective students and families; assist with open houses and other recruitment initiatives; support students seeking admission to business program and orientation programs for freshmen, transfer, and new international students; teach First Year Experience (FYE) course. Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean and Director of Advising.


 

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in related field; one or more years of advising experience (including experience gained during an educational program) in a university or college setting in academic, career, study abroad and/or related areas; excellent written and oral communication (including public speaking), organizational, technological, and collaborative skills. Preferred Qualifications: The Master’s degree in counseling or college student personnel; experience in working with international students (advising, programming, or with immigration status); personal experience of having worked or studied abroad; proficiency in a non-English language.
