Description: Advise international students, domestic students and alumni regarding a variety of career development and job search concerns through individual appointments, group presentations, and classroom visits. Coordinates on-campus recruiting activities for selected employing organizations and serves as a resource to all employers. Develop and coordinate student programming and experiential learning initiatives. Specific need identified to provide services and resources to International students.
Qualifications: Master_s degree in student personnel, counseling, international studies, linguistics, human resources, education administration or a related field plus one year of advising, counseling, recruitment, human resources, education administration or related experience. Equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience will be considered. Strong _verbal and written_ communication, time management and organizational skills required. Must be able to balance multiple and varied tasks, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information with discretion. Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a diverse constituency of individuals. Computer proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook e-mail_ and knowledge and background in survey methodology and statistical treatment. Technical expertise in analyzing and presenting data needed. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends _career fairs, workshops, events_. Ability to represent the Center and Purdue University well to internal and external contacts. International student services experience and awareness of the dynamics of the career decision process and ability to connect choice of academic major to career goal preferred. Additional Information: A check of criminal conviction records will be made for employment in this position. FLSA: Exempt _Not Eligible for Overtime_.
