These students are consistently planning ahead for a future that seems ever-changing depending on their immigration and work status. Maddie Foster has been serving students as a Career Counselor at University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) for over two years. In her role, she also focuses on serving undocumented students as a member of the Dream Scholar Resource Team to remain up-to-date on current immigration legislature and collaborate with various campus departments to support these students. Within her time at UCSB, Maddie has transformed a one-day professional development retreat for undocumented students into a year-long career readiness program. Overall, Maddie effectively combines empathy and listening skills with a strong sense of humor supporting students to turn ideas into careers.
