ASSISTANT DIRECTOR - The University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Director in the Office of Career Services. The University of Illinois at Chicago is a large, urban public research one institution with a highly diverse student population. The Assistant Director position is a full-time (100%)12-month appointment and reports to the Director for the Office of Career Services. The position focuses on providing career counseling to students and developing and administering programs that provide students with the necessary information and tools to gain employment and prepare for long-term career success. Additionally, the Assistant Director guides students through self-assessments, plans and presents career preparation programs and workshops, coordinates events and activities, utilizes career technologies, and has direct contact with students on a daily basis. The position is fulltime and available December, 2012.
A Master’s degree in student personnel administration, higher education counseling or related field is required. A minimum of two years relevant experience is required. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential along with strong planning, organizational and project management skills.
