Works with all appropriate members of the health care team and coordinates care for patients assigned to the Faculty Service through the development and use of patient care and practice standards. Works to achieve desired patient outcomes and ensures that variances from established parameters are evaluated and addressed as necessary. Performs a wide variety of high-level patient care activities which may include completion of patient assessment, history and physical examination, development and implementation of plan to address physical and psychosocial needs, and evaluation of patient progress. The Advance Practice Nurse is accountable for the clinical outcomes of assigned patients.
Position Accountabilities: 1.Performs expert nursing assessment and medical history and physical examination on patients in an effort to identify actual or potential illness which may impact the course of hospitalization. 2.Coordinates and implements strategies to manage appropriate lengths of stay and resource consumption. 3.Demonstrates leadership ability of advanced clinical practice in the hospital and the community 4.Collaborates with the multidiscipline team in the development, implementation, evaluation and revision of the clinical care and outcomes of specific patient populations. Qualifications: Minimum Education: Master's Degree in Nursing. Minimum Experience: Three years clinical experience in acute care. Required Licensure/Certification: Current Missouri Registered Nurse Licensure. Current Missouri Advance Practice Licensure. Certification. Working Conditions: Exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases. Contact with Patients under wide variety of circumstances. Exposed to unpleasant element (accidents, injuries, illness). Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. May perform emergency care. Subject to irregular hours. Pressure due to multiple competing demands. Physical Requirements: Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking. Occasionally lifts, positions, pushes, and/or transfers patients. Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and pull 100 pounds. Job Type: Full-time Shift Type: Days
