ASSISTANT DIRECTOR ENGINEERING CAREER SERVICES (Job ID #43060) UIC - College of Engineering The College of Engineering has an opening for a talented professional in the role of Assistant Director in the Engineering Career Center. This position assesses student's goals, interests and experiences to provide instruction, resources and events, and programs for various areas of career development, including career and major exploration and decision making, internship, and full-time job searches, resume and cover letter writing, interviewing, networking and related career areas. Plan, coordinate and lead outreach programs for students and employers, such as career fairs, recruiting events, workshops and seminars. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, student advising, creation and delivery of career related workshops and coordination of career fairs. This position will also work directly with corporate employers to develop internship and full-time employment opportunities. Responsible for large volume internship and full-time employment data collection and analysis. Will work closely with our student organizations, hiring managers and engineering alumni to coordinate career related activities and development of mentor programs. Must be able to work in-conjunction with faculty and various units on-campus. Will work on other programs and projects as required.
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree required. Qualified candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience in career development, corporate recruitment, career services, or human resources. Must be able to demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills. This position also requires strong analytical and organizational skills. Flexible and willing to work occasional evenings for student events. The University of Illinois has a long history of outstanding engineering education and research.
