The Center for Career Development is seeking a leader to join a highly effective team of professionals in delivering the highest quality end-to-end career development outcomes to students and alumni. The Director of Employer Development (DED) will develop an employer relations strategy and implement a dynamic placement exploration program for students and alumni. This position is part of a grant generously funded by the Lilly Endowment and marks Phase III of an initiative to facilitate the hiring of Indiana college graduates at Indiana-based companies. Reporting to the Director of the Center for Career Development, the Director for Employer Development will provide leadership and guidance to a professional staff and collaborate with the DCCD to set measurable goals. The DED will facilitate relationships with professional organizations and companies to foster employment and internship opportunities for UE students and alumni. The DED will also oversee department programs relative to professional job searches and employment opportunities, including career fairs and networking programs, with a specific emphasis on identifying professional employment opportunities in Indiana. The Director must possess outstanding communication skills and demonstrate evidence in developing and maintaining professional partnerships with other entities
Minimum of five years’ progressive professional experience in a career center, marketing, recruitment, or human resources operation; Experience in sales, service or relationship development environments; Ability to establish, implement and exceed measurable objectives, goals and timelines; Understanding the needs and requirements of employers seeking full-time professional and internship new hires; Ability to manage multiple events with a clear understanding of planning and implementing collaborative programs and events; Experience making presentations to small and large audiences.

Desired Experience: Minimum of three years’ supervisory experience of fulltime professional staff; Demonstrated strategic skills with a proven track record of follow-through and success; Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously; Proven organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively with a broad range of constituents; Working knowledge of the use of career center management systems and other online resources and databases; Experience analyzing data and programs for impact and success; Professional experience in delivering presentations and public speaking; Ability to work independently and as a team member to creatively solve problems and create programs; Experience in a higher education environment is a plus; Understand and articulate needs and concerns of historically under represented and diverse populations, and demonstrate a professional commitment to diversity; A commitment to quickly learn and adapt to the culture, demands and needs of a private small, liberal arts-focused institution; Exhibiting and maintaining flexibility, teamwork, and a good sense of humor. A Master’s degree in Human Resources, Marketing, Business, Higher Education Administration or related area is preferred.
