The purpose of the position is to teach, advise and assist students and alumni in the job search process; to supervise the Cooperative Education and Internship Program; to provide oversight to the student relations staff (3FTE); to lead assessment of student learning; to assist the director by actively participating in program development and review.
Minimum Qualifications • Masters degree • Minimum 3 years recent and responsible experience in university/college career services, student affairs, human resources/college relations • Demonstrated management and leadership experience • Experience with employee supervision, training and review • Ability to provide effective career advising and job search methods to students • Demonstrated genuine commitment to student learning • Ability to design and present trainings and workshops to diverse populations • Ability to skillfully manage external relations and communication with constituents • Evidence of working effectively in a team setting as a leader and contributor • Evidence of creative idea generation and initiative in taking ideas to implementation • Proficiency in using computer systems and software for word processing, database management and the internet Preferred Qualifications • Demonstrated competency in career advising and job search methods • Knowledge of employment trends, resources and technology related to college career services • Understanding of assessment methods and tools to assess student learning.
