Will serve as the Senior Associate Director of the Broad MBA Career Services Center; will advise MBA and specialized MS degree students and alumni on career choices and the process of finding meaningful employment (internships and full-time opportunities); designs, coordinates, and delivers career exploration, career search, and career management workshops for students and alumni; actively monitors student progress on career plans and goals; assists employers recruiting MBA/MS students and alumni by providing necessary information; forms relationships with recruiters; works with alumni in coordination of relationships with students; monitors career services industry for new services; represents Broad MBA/MS Programs at corporate events and professional conferences; supervises two associate directors; this position requires flexibility with some evening and weekend advising and programming; involves occasional travel, primarily within the state of Michigan.
Minimum Requirements: Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a master's degree in business administration (MBA); one to three years of experience coaching or mentoring students such as students in business or business-related fields; experience supervising employees; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications: Experience in industries or fields highly sought after by current MBAs; experience coaching or mentoring graduate business students or students in business-related fields of study; proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access); knowledge of self-assessment tools; demonstrated creativity and ability to develop new initiatives; understanding of MBA/MS career paths and/or talent acquisition processes; strong interest in recruiting strategies and labor market trends; experience using career management software (database applications such as Symplicity); experience presenting to audiences up to 100; exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; strong customer service skills; excellent teamwork skills; positive and enthusiastic attitude.
